Support EuroDIG
When registering for EuroDIG2021 (here) you will recognise that we have introduced an opportunity to make a donation to EuroDIG. We did so because our budget decreased significantly over the last two years, and the costs we have saved on travel due to Covid are not covering the loss.

Participation at EuroDIG remains free of charge, but you would help us a lot by making a donation. Small amounts contributed by many will create a big impact towards a more sustainable budget.

Meet the Focal Point

Last year, 5G technology was discussed with a focus on its governance and access to it. (more information here)

This year we are looking at 5G from a users’ perspective in a #EuroDIg2021 workshop taking place on June 30 (see: https://eurodigwiki.org/wiki/WS_15_2021).
This workshop aims to explore opportunities and challenges of 5G deployments in diverse fields, such as smart cities, public institutions, technology sustainability, platform transparency, consolidation, privacy, and human rights.

The WS15 Organising Team is looking forward to an interactive discussion between experts and stakeholders from industry, institutions and civil society, seeking to further the debate on how regulation and technological development can create communication networks that function in the public interest.

Pierpaolo Marchese is the Focal Point for this session, and in this role chairing the Org Team’s work. Pierpaolo is an independent ICT Consultant based in Torino, Italy. Recently, he has been part of the ETSI Board of Directors, for TIM SpA , while cooperating with industry and academic stakeholders on standards for future networks. Pierpaolo’s interests include 5G mobile technologies, virtualisation, industry 4.0, Internet of Things, automotive and ICT, Artificial Intelligence, and technology dissemination within SME.

We are grateful for Pierpaolo's contribution to bringing the EuroDIG2021 programme to life. EuroDIG will take place as a virtual event from June 28 to 30, 2021.
