What is the Global Digital Compact?

In September 2021, the UN Secretary-General released his report Our Common Agenda. The Common Agenda proposes a Global Digital Compact (GDC) to be agreed at the Summit of the Future in September 2023 through a technology track involving all stakeholders.

The Office of the Secretary-General’s Envoy on Technology has opened a dedicated space with background information and updates on the GDC at The global community is now called to submit their inputs to the GDC until the end of the year.

How to contribute?

EuroDIG has set up an open stakeholder consultation to prepare a submission to the Tech Envoy’s survey. Via our commenting platform, written inputs can be submitted until October 7. Find out more.

On 31 October, EuroDIG will hold a “EuroDIG Extra” virtual meeting on the Global Digital Compact to which all stakeholders are invited and give comments on a draft proposal. On December 1, at the IGF 2022, a final round of comments will be possible before the submission is finalised.

We invite all EuroDIG stakeholders to make a contribution by commenting! This consultation is chaired by Mark Carvell. If you have any questions, please reach out to us via
