Next steps in programme planning

With EuroDIG 2023 less than three months away, we invite you to

  • register to participate either in Tampere or online here.
  • contribute to the next steps in forming and enriching the programme and individual sessions. Most Focal Points for the Subtopics and Workshops are ready for their Org Teams to form. You can join by signing up to the mailing list linked to each session: https://eurodigwiki.org/wiki/Consolidated_programme_2023
  • browse the flash sessions. These are individually organised, stand-alone topics and we have a broad range of themes this year – from cyber security skills to accessibility and delay-tolerant networks. You can find them on the EuroDIG Wiki as well.

Meet the speaker – Andrew Sullivan

In the upcoming weeks, we will introduce you to the experts who will be speaking at EuroDIG and who are organising sessions.

We are starting off with Andrew Sullivan, president and CEO of the Internet Society who is holding a keynote on June 20th.

Andrew Sullivan joined the Internet Society as President and Chief Executive Officer in September 2018.

He has focused on Internet infrastructure and standards since 2001, when he worked to launch the .info Internet top-level domain. Because of that experience, Andrew was part of the team that collaborated with the Internet Society to launch the Public Interest Registry, and take over the operation of the .org top-level domain. He was then a principal contributor to the Variant Issues Project (VIP) undertaken by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). The VIP was an effort to bring together several different, previous efforts in support of internationalized domain names. In 2012 Andrew joined Dyn (later, Oracle Dyn) to establish Dyn Labs and then to manage the DNS development and architecture departments. Throughout his career, he has worked to establish and maintain the Internet’s critical value as an interoperable, neutral platform.

Andrew Sullivan’s graduate work on the philosophy of economics led him to his interest in free/open source software and open Internet protocols and standards. He carry that interest and passion forward in his position at the Internet Society.
