Hosting EuroDIG
For each annual cycle, we seek for committed partners within Europe to host EuroDIG. Partners can include organisations from any stakeholder group (government, civil society, technical community or industry) and may include different organisations acting in cooperation (see overview of previous hosts below). Whatever the official host organisation, it is expected that the relevant national government should also express its support for holding EuroDIG in their country.
The EuroDIG host helps with reaching out to the local community, venue scouting, event logistics (including facilities for remote participation and Internet connectivity), administrative and on-site support, and finding local sponsors. The host will also cover costs for the venue, technical facilities, catering and one evening event.
Hosting such a meeting provides excellent visibility both for the county and the hosting entity itself. The host will be mentioned in meeting announcements, and will be given credit in the opening and closing sessions of the meeting. The host organisation will also be given the opportunity to make a short welcome speech and to include topics of particular interest in the overall programme. The host organisation’s logo will be prominently displayed on the EuroDIG website, in printed meeting material, and in the meeting reports.
Substantiated applications should ideally be submitted to the EuroDIG Secretariat at least 18 month in advance of the proposed EuroDIG event (usually taking place in June).
In case of multiple applications, the EuroDIG Association Board and Institutional Partners will take a decision regarding the host organisation, taking into consideration a range of criteria such as regional diversity, involvement and contribution of other local stakeholders, and organizational aspects and considerations.
A decision regarding the subsequent host will be made prior to the current event to allow for the formal handover of the EuroDIG flag during the closing session.
Please contact the EuroDIG Secretariat if you are interested in serving as a EuroDIG host and would like to get more information.
