Meet the Focal Point – Matthias C. Kettemann
Leading up to EuroDIG 2026, we are going to introduce the people who are coordinating the collaborative session planning – our Focal Points – and their session topics.
This week, we are happy to introduce Matthias C. Kettemann. He is Professor of Innovation, Theory and Philosophy of Law and head of the Department for Theory and Future of Law at the University of Innsbruck, Austria. He leads research programmes at the Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society, Berlin, the Leibniz Institute for Media Research | Hans-Bredow-Institut, Hamburg and the Sustainable Computing Lab at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. An expert in digital governance Matthias publishes and advises on the power of rules and the rules of power in online spaces and has been engaged as an expert by international organizations, governments, foundations and companies. He is also a convener of the IGF Austria.
At EuroDIG 2026, Matthias is the Focal Point of Workshop 5: The Role of High and Frontier Technologies and Standards Setting for the Future of the Internet, which is going to be held on May 27. Register for EuroDIG 2026!
EuroDIG 2026 is going to be held as a hybrid meeting from 26 to 27 May 2026 at the Charlemagne Building of the European Commission in Brussels and online and hosted by EURid. Registration is mandatory for all participants and has to be done on the EuroDIG website. On-site participants must register by 30 April 2026 at the very latest.
