Introducing Main Topic 02
Next in our series, we are taking a closer look at the second Main Topic session: βNeurotechnology and privacy: Navigating human rights and regulatory challenges in the age of neural dataβ, which is going to take place on 13 May 2025 at 11:00 – 12:30 CEST as part of EuroDIG 2025.
What is the session about?
Neurotechnology refers to a spectrum of devices, tools, systems, and algorithms used to understand and/or influence, access, monitor, assess, emulate, simulate or modulate the structure, activity and function of the nervous system. The convergence of advancements in neuroscience and engineering poses ethical and legal challenges as well as risks for the protection of personal data. This session will explore the concepts of mental data, cognitive data, neural data and mental privacy and how to mitigate privacy challenges by addressing the current debates on neurotechnologies, human rights, and existing regulatory initiatives.
How to get involved?
You can join the Org Team here and/or sign up to make a statement in the session. The latter is a new feature in our Main Topic sessions this year. Interested individuals who would like to contribute a short statement to one or several of these sessions can already sign up here. Β
