They reflect a European multistakeholder view on a wide range of digital policy issues, providing both an overview of the current state of debate and concrete policy considerations.
This week, we focus on sessions that explored digital sovereignty, European digital identity, and the transition to post-quantum security.
Messages of Main Topic 2: European Approaches to Digital Sovereignty
This main session examined how Europe can strengthen its digital sovereignty while preserving an open, interoperable and human-centric Internet. Participants discussed Europe’s strategic dependencies on external digital technologies and infrastructures, emphasising that digital sovereignty should be understood as resilient openness and strategic autonomy rather than isolation or protectionism. The Messages highlight the need for coordinated action across all stakeholder groups, including investment in trusted European technologies, open source infrastructure, interoperability, digital skills and the protection of democratic values.

Messages of Workshop 1: EUDI Wallet and EU Business Wallet as Tools for Enhancing the European Digital Single Market
This workshop explored the role of the European Digital Identity Wallet (EUDI Wallet) and the EU Business Wallet in strengthening the European Digital Single Market. Discussions focused on how these tools can empower citizens and businesses through secure, trusted and interoperable digital identity solutions. Participants stressed that successful implementation will depend on user adoption, seamless integration into existing digital ecosystems, and maintaining an open and collaborative approach to European digital sovereignty.

Messages of Workshop 8: Q-Day Countdown: No More Privacy?
This workshop addressed the urgent need to prepare for the transition to post-quantum cryptography. Participants highlighted that quantum computing already poses emerging risks to existing encryption and that organisations should begin preparations without delay. Discussions underlined the importance of raising awareness, supporting the deployment of new technical standards, building procurement capacity and ensuring coordinated action across governments, service providers and other stakeholders to safeguard privacy and digital security.
