EuroDIG News

The EuroDIG Secretariat is now returning from an extended summer break.

With this newsletter, we would like to keep you informed about the latest and upcoming developments.

First, however, we would like to pay tribute to our founding member, Bertrand de la Chapelle, who passed away unexpectedly on 26 August 2026.

Bertrand was one of the enthusiastic initiators who, one evening in 2008 during an ICANN meeting in Paris, came up with the idea of founding a European IGF. EuroDIG is just one of the many initiatives that he helped to establish and develop. We have lost a great visionary, colleague and friend. A Condolence Book has been opened:

IGF Slovakia has been newly established and thereby joins the group of European Internet Governance Initiatives. The Call for Issues for the IGF Slovakia 2027 is currently open on igf.sk.

Important updates on EuroDIG 2027

The host city and date for EuroDIG 2027 have not yet been finalised. We will keep you informed of further developments through this newsletter.

The Call for Issues will be launched in early November. We invite you to contribute ideas for relevant topics to be addressed at the next conference. Proposals can be submitted until 31 December 2026.

The process for establishing the Programme Committee will also be revised for EuroDIG 2027. The new process will be communicated clearly and transparently to ensure that all stakeholders are informed.
